CrEaTiVe FiNdS ArT aNd FiNe CrAfT MaRkEt VENDOR SEARCH…
Our jury will be held on
Sun, Oct 7th, 2007, at
2678 King George Hwy, unit #45, South Surrey (Mirada Townhouse Complex). Bring by a minimum of five samples of your best work between 10 a.m. & 2pm. A completed application form must be filled out prior to arrival.

Samples must represent the items which you are planning to sell at the Fair. We would also like to know the price of your work. Please provide photographs or sketches of your display if you have any. How you present your wares will have a large effect on how well your items will sell. Those who cannot make it on the jury date may mailed photographs to the above address or emailed to creativefinds@gmail.com. Further details are available on our application, which can be downloaded from the website http://creativefinds.ca .

We judge your work on the quality of design, originality, construction and on how well we think the item will fit into our Fair. Our aim is for you to have a successful and profitable experience and for the public to want to come back to the event year after year.

We strive to have a wide variety of crafts at the event and for this reason we may limit the overall number of vendors selling a particular type of craft. This could mean our jury has to turn down your high quality items because we have already filled the quota for that type of craft.

A $50 cheque made payable to the market organizer or cash for the table fee must be paid on acceptance into the fair.

Two more great Vendors have been added to the Creative Finds Art & Fine Craft Market!

I would like to introduce you to:
* Erin McCall’s Sunlit Media/Letterpress
* Christina Lazar-Schuler’s paperWERXings

Make sure you have Dec 1st marked off on your calenders, as you do not want to miss this show!

Check back often, as I will be adding vendor listings as soon as they are confirmed for the market.

If you know of anyone local whose work stands out and you think would be a wonderful asset to the show… please direct them to www.creativefinds.ca .

Keep creating and smiling!

Phew! What an eventful weekend!

On Friday I had a wonderful visit with my ‘Glitter Sisters’, Violette, Sherrie, Gemma & Gemma’s sister Susie. Gemma and Susie came up from the USA for the day. We first had some tea/coffee and yummy treats at Violette’s. After they had their awe inspiring tour of Violette’s Magic Cottage, they headed on over to check out my studio and ‘wow’ at Duran’s car collection.
Susie went home with one of my new little pendants. Wear it in good health, Susie… & thank you.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday… I spent the day at Granville Island with my Artist friend Joanna.

We were doing our best to creatively transform (and survive next to the spray can fumes) our garbage cans into pieces of art for the 21st Annual Granville Island Garbage Can Art Contest/Auction (with all proceeds going towards art therapy at the BC Children’s Hospital).
More photos can be viewed here.

Frozen Molasses: Today (still trying to recover from a thick head full of fumes) after I had my hair cut, I went on a nice walk. Breathing in the fresh air, listening to the birds chirping… I began my ‘out-of-the-house’ exercise regime.
I normally work out with my family every 2nd to 3rd night in our home. We eat well, but the fat is coming off slower than frozen molasses. Therefore I am now walking twice a week and playing tennis (without boring rules) with my friends. We can use one of my photos from yesterday as the dreaded ‘BEFORE’ photo (ha ha).

Hope you are all having a great week so far!

My first proper attempt at
Jewelry Soldering:

Yesterday Poppy spent a gracious fours hours with me teaching the world of pendant soldering.

I’m now hooked!
I had brought my camera with me to take step by step photos for my reference, however I was so wrapped up in the creation process I completely forgot to stop intermittently and capture the event.

It was great and I owe her big time.

I already sold one pendant today (blonde ‘Farrah’ image, not pictured here), just by showing my little creations to a friend. Yeah!

I am sooo excited to make more!

OPEN HOUSE: Please note that I will be slightly changing the date of my open house from Sunday Sept 30. Check back tomorrow for further details.

Keep creating and smiling,
Nicci
