I LOVE Creation!!!!

Well, the commission orders are streaming in & I am LOVING IT!!!!
Thank you all so much for appreciating my work and wanting a piece for your own.

I sent off one of the cushion cover orders yesterday, will be finishing up another order this week. Then I get to begin on a cigar box purse, a shelving unit, a chair, planning a funky fun wall mural, and so on!
Yeah ! Yeah ! Yeah!

More Awards: Look what one of my online friends sent me in the mail today:…

I need to also start working on items for the upcoming CrEaTiVe FiNdS mArKeT, as the date will be hear in no time. Pop by the website, as I have begun adding sample images of the types of goodies which will be for sale during the one day market.

Keep creating and smiling!

Commissioned Work:
The one downfall to doing commissioned work is that I cannot post any pictures to show you until after my client has rcvd the finished work. Other than that…. bring on the commissions!
These two tiny pictures are just a little taste for you until I can post the completed work.
I just need to add the ‘coats’ of varnish, have the ‘Certificates of Authenticity’ printed & then one of the items gets to head off to their final destination…and hopefully bring big smiles to someone special. The other one is part or a larger order, which I am still working on.

Party Planning:
My little man has requested a Pirate themed party. There will be scurvy dogs, island girls & mermaids abound. Eye patches and bead necklaces handed out at the door.
The only thing I am not set on yet, is how should I decorate the cake and/or cupcakes? Any ideas?

The illustration you see to the right is by Sarah How. Isn’t it great. It was the perfect image to use for his party invites, don’t you think?
FYI: Image was used with Artists permission.

My very quick Photoshop version of Campbell’s Soup Art…

(Very good tomato soup by the way. My son loved it.)

Oh well… back to painting for the evening!

PS: I super promise to get back on track with daily blogging, as of this Monday.

Hi All,

ART STUDIO: Please note that I will now have my Art Studio open to the public the last Sunday of every month from 10am-3pm (excluding December 30, 2007). Please check my Events page often for updates.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS: I have been very busy working on my commissioned projects this last week. Currently I have 2 cushion covers, one tote bag, one cigar box purse & one tattoo on the go. This of course is over and above being a Mom to a little one, organizing (throwing out/cleaning house) the storage in our garage, painting canvases, painting bookmarks, painting drawer pulls, organizing an Art Market, etc (ha ha).

Well, back to work I go….see you Sunday!

Keep smiling and creating,

Let’s play weekend catch-up…

Friday – Meeting up with an online Creative ‘Glitter Power Sister’:

Violette, Giggles and I met one of our GPS ‘Sioux‘ from Texas, who was in Vancouver for one night.

We had a great time chatting and sharing stories, etc.

Our gathering also included Violette’s “G”, Sioux’s “Raf”, Giggles’ “Pepper & Bryan”. Unfortunately my photos of them turned out quit blurred.

Saturday – A visit to the annual Cloverdale Blueberry Car Jamboree and my wall mural.
I took so many pictures of the wonderful older cars. There curves are what do it for me I think. They are more like pieces of art compared to our straight line (rather boring) vehicles of today.
I know I would make many car enthusiasts cringe when I say this, … but … Oh!, I would love to paint one with ‘My Girlz’, flowers, checkers, etc. Oh to dream…

Can you see the dot, which is my son standing next to the monster truck? He is half the height of the back wheel. Yikes!

Mural: We had some friends over for dinner last night.
After dessert they said they would like to drive down and take a look at the mural I participated in. We arrived down there at a quarter to 9pm, only to find Alicia packing up after another day of painting. Alicia and Joanna have spent many hours this week fine tuning our mural, as it ended up we definitely needed more time than what was anticipated. The wall is 23 feet wide by 8 feet high.
It looks even more fabulous than when I packed up my paints last Monday. Great job Ladies! (I was with you working in spirit since I could not be there physically these last few days.)

Sunday – A day of supply shopping and painting:

Today I plan to head out and purchase some pieces I need to begin working on my latest commission pieces.. and then it’s time to PAINT, Baby!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
Keep smiling and creating
