I have a friend making a funky quilt made from art squares, so I sat down last night and painted a 12″ square for her.
After having completed my Girly square for her quilt, I am now jazzed about making my own art quilt.
If any of you Creative Ones out there would like to be a part of my art quilt, please contact me for my mailing address and send your 12″ decorated square my way.
I ask that all squares be hand washable, have an extra inch perimeter for sewing purposes and have quilt batting sewn to the back on your art piece. Otherwise.. the sky is the limit!
The final art piece will be showcased on my website for all to see. I will send all contributors digital photos and a ‘thank you’ token.
Please sign up by May 15th and have your art piece submitted through the mail to me by June 15th.
I am looking for 15 Artists/Crafters to join in on this adventure.
Let those Creative Juices flow!
keep smiling and creating!

Functional Artwork in progress :

I seem to have a plethora of bags and armband bracelets just waiting for their final touches so that they may venture out into the world.
Here are some of my hand bags and totes getting ready to join my online store. (Click on the bags to view a larger image.)
If you’d be interested in a special custom painted bag, please feel free to contact me.
Hope you are all out enjoying the day in whatever weather Mother Nature gave you today and don’t forget to take a quiet moment to send love to those effected by the tragedy this week.

Grunt! Groan! Growl!
Can we start this day over yet?:
I hardly slept last night only to be woken up by my toddler at 6:27am yelling from his room… wanting to watch cartoons and play. Soon I realized that a head cold came out of nowhere during the night and slapped me on the nose.
One dose of Buckleys and a few hours later, I am off to work. Once my apron goes on, I hear that the freezer is down and we need to move all the large ice cream bins around to the other freezers to keep it cold. (Thankfully a new freezer showed up very quickly)
Followed by a co-worker opening her carbonized cranberry beverage in the back room, soon realizing it must have been shaken as it explodes over my back and the back room floor.
Next while serving a customer a folded wooden stool/table gets knocked down only to land on the back of my heel (before we had the chance to put it away again).
Only to be advised by a loved one that it is ‘Friday the 13th’ after all.
I am ready to wish for a do-over by this point, when the fire alarm goes off and we are told to shut down the store, much to a clients very strong disapproval.
After the ‘False Alarm’ was announced I got to go for a break, which seemed to save my day.
I went to a wonderful little shop called ‘Four n Twenty’. They make most of their food items from scratch. I sat down and enjoyed a muffin and slowly drank a cup of coffee, then doodled in my sketch book.
The owner asked me if I was writing a love letter. At first I thought “A love letter? I never write those.” Then I thought…. ‘why don’t I?’.
A new goal came out of this thanks to her comment. I will write my husband love letters!!
The wonders of creativity! How it can take you out of the prominent ‘reality’ and massage your senses. It is somewhat like taking a mini refresher vacation.
Gee… what shall tomorrow be like? (ha ha)
Keep smiling and creating!
